Creator trends: Toyota Racing taps Kareem Rahma, J.Crew runs a creator summer camp

Toyota Racing collaborating with Kareem Rahma of "Subway Takes" on YouTube, plus J.Crew's creator summer camp and Rhode's destination trip. What these have in common is buying into a creator's existing format and audience rather than scripting a brand one. The win is borrowing the format and the credibility, not just the reach.

How Lipton is using local creators instead of building in-house social teams

With agency Billion Dollar Boy, Lipton runs "Social Hubs" across six markets where vetted local creators produce content for the brand's channels and their own. The brand gets the always-on cadence of an in-house team without the headcount, and outsources briefing, sourcing and management. The unit of scale stops being the campaign and becomes a repeatable creator sourcing engine plugged into each market.

Employee-generated content: the fine line between going viral and getting fired

Two cases side by side. Kaeden Rowland, the 23 year old "Staples Baddie" whose slang filled workplace TikToks Staples embraced, and Stefan Todd, who says his videos got him fired by Ashley Furniture. EGC is being treated as a low cost, high authenticity alternative to paid creator content, but without a policy framework the spontaneity that makes it credible becomes the liability. The difference between a brand asset and a brand crisis is often an HR policy nobody wrote yet.

Can influencers be automated with AI?

From Prada's Candy in 2021 to today's hyper realistic virtual creators, with the influencer platform market projected from around 23.6 billion dollars to 70.9 billion by 2032. The conclusion holds up: what AI cannot replicate is genuine agency and lived story, the unknown of what a person does next and the emotional labour of sharing a real life. AI influencers sit in celebrity territory, parasocial but not personal.

LinkedIn data reveals the 5 skills redefining communications in the AI age

"Storyteller" job postings on LinkedIn have doubled in a year, with Anthropic, Chime and PayPal hiring communicators who combine earned media instincts with content creation and social fluency. Notion merged internal comms, external comms and influencer into a single storytelling function. The five fastest growing skills: AI literacy, cross functional collaboration, brand storytelling, operational efficiency, video content strategy.

Havas PR CEO Dara Busch on why earned media is having its biggest glow up yet

AI search systems surface earned coverage as a trust signal, which makes placement more valuable than it has been in years. Havas now runs a merged media model with earned, social and influencer woven into one programme. Her sharpest line is on measurement: share of voice has moved from volume to quality, it is no longer about "nine gazillion impressions" but who saw it and how they engaged.

Top 20 AI marketing stories, 25 to 28 May 2026

The week AI stopped being a marketing tool and became a marketing channel: OpenAI's self serve Ads Manager in beta with no minimum spend, alongside Google's Conversational Discovery ads from 20 May. Content that performs in AI indexed formats, structured, factual, authentic, is what gets surfaced in conversational search, which changes how creator scripts should be built.

Ferrari just pulled a Jaguar

Ferrari unveiled the Luce, a 640,000 dollar electric liftback designed by Jony Ive. Shares fell, analysts flagged brand damage, and the internet settled on "it looks like a vacuum cleaner". Ritson's point is that the problem is not that it is electric, it is that it does not look, feel or read as a Ferrari: light blue, soft silhouette, poetic name, the opposite of what the brand stands for. Entering a new category makes distinctive brand assets more critical, not less. Hermès, Apple and Burberry all extended by leaning harder into their DNA.

Overheated iPads, lifeguards and changing tides: the unexpected challenges of a Cannes beach takeover

A rare honest account of the gap between experiential ambition and execution: iPads overheating mid demo, lifeguard rules blocking sight lines, tidal schedules breaking shoot timing, logistics that look simple on a deck and turn ugly on the ground. The lesson generalises: the moment your tech or your talent depends on perfect conditions, it fails in public.

OpenAI turns on cost-per-click ads inside ChatGPT

Advertisers can now bid 3 to 5 dollars per click, ten weeks after the CPM model launched, where CPMs have already fallen from 60 to 25 dollars. OpenAI is recruiting its first Advertising Marketing Science Lead to build attribution from scratch, and is moving faster than Netflix or Uber did on ads. Intent here is built through conversational prompts rather than keywords, which is a different user mindset at comparable CPCs to premium Google Search.

PR roundup: when AI fakes the experts, livestreamers beat the algorithm, and Swatch breaks the internet

Two things worth keeping. First, Twitch has produced 168 top ranked US born creators, more than TikTok (143), Instagram (142) and YouTube (105): long form, personality driven livestreaming builds deeper loyalty than algorithm optimised short form, and the platform most media plans still treat as niche deserves a bigger seat. Second, the Swatch and Audemars Piguet "Royal Pop" drop: a 2,500 percent spike in mentions, 182,000 mentions and 18.26 billion potential impressions across 1 to 18 May, and a TikTok announcement post at 2.3 million views and 65 percent engagement. It worked because of the tension between the two worlds, which gave people something to argue about.

AI influencer discovery tools are changing how agencies cast creators

Dentsu's Creator and Trends Studio (CATS), built on a Meta API deal, suggests creators by subject, profile and trend participation: for Elizabeth Arden it produced plus 14.3 percent unaided ad recall and plus 41 percent sales conversions. Later models predicted ROAS against historic engagement before a brief goes live, and Walmart now deploys creators in the hundreds of thousands, impossible to select by hand. Human judgement is being reserved for top tier talent while nano and micro campaigns go fully automated.

The experience is now the product

SailGP CMO Leah Davis argues real world experiences have moved from brand add-on to core offering: sporting attendance past pre-pandemic levels, Ralph Lauren, Dior and Rhode turning retail into temporary universes, tours designed as cultural moments. AI will personalise the journey, but the arrival, the atmosphere and the unexpected interaction are what people remember and post. "Fans do not want a seat, they want a story."
