Coke asks busy Gen Z, millennials to log off for quality meal time

Coca-Cola's The World Will Wait uses influencer partnerships to argue for putting phones down during meals. The contradiction of using social creators to advocate less social is the idea, not an accident. A brand channel could not carry that message credibly, a creator can. Good illustration of entering an existing conversation instead of pushing a product message.

Kia takes a Reddit staple for a spin during WNBA All-Star Weekend

A Kia AMA on Reddit where a physical claw machine picked pre-screened questions, answered live on video, drawing 61,000 views in 72 hours on a platform most auto brands ignore. The gimmick is not the claw machine, it is that a car brand showed up somewhere unexpected and answered questions in public. Note the method: manufacture the occasion rather than wait for comments worth answering.

Little Caesars built Peter Parker's apartment, but creators made it travel

A physical recreation of Peter Parker's apartment as a Spider-Man tie-in, then creators carried it. The brand supplied the object, the audience supplied the distribution, which is the reverse of buying reach for a finished asset. Build something worth filming, then get out of the way: the asset is the set, not the video.

Inside Unilever's 300,000 creator network: the logistics behind the headline number

What the widely quoted 300,000 figure actually covers, the mix of roles inside it, and the AI infrastructure holding it together, including the risk of automating relationship management at that scale. Headline creator counts measure infrastructure, not influence. The interesting question is how many of those 300,000 have ever been briefed twice.

How Unilever mobilised 35 brands and 50,000 creators at the World Cup

The interesting part is not the volume, it is the governance: a shared brief, shared guardrails, local execution. The closest public example of a decentralised creator machine run from a global centre, and an answer to how a centre coordinates without centralising execution. Scale came from a shared operating model, not from a central content factory.

Kai Cenat's Streamer University was a masterclass for brands looking to tap creators

A five day creator bootcamp on Twitch that peaked at 1.2 million concurrent viewers and close to 58 million hours watched. Brands did not buy placements around it, they funded a format creators actually wanted to attend, renting relevance from a creator owned IP rather than building their own. The audience showed up for the format, not the sponsors, and the sponsors still got the reach. The unit that generates community is the format, not the brand.

Gap Inc. opens its creator and influencer programme to its own employees

Corporate, distribution centre and store staff admitted to the existing creator programme, using the same briefs and the same surfaces, across newsletters, social, branded content and product storytelling. It is not an advocacy scheme where employees reshare corporate posts. Most employee content programmes fail because they ask staff to distribute someone else's message, this one asks them to make their own: employees as content supply, not as a distribution list.

Mr. Clean jumps into the trending "everything shower"

A cleaning brand credibly showing up inside a beauty and self care moment it had no obvious right to, by partnering with influencers and riding an existing conversation rather than manufacturing its own. Trend-jacking works when the brand adds play to a conversation instead of interrupting it, and it buys social permission at a fraction of a campaign budget.

Creator trends: Toyota Racing taps Kareem Rahma, J.Crew runs a creator summer camp

Toyota Racing collaborating with Kareem Rahma of "Subway Takes" on YouTube, plus J.Crew's creator summer camp and Rhode's destination trip. What these have in common is buying into a creator's existing format and audience rather than scripting a brand one. The win is borrowing the format and the credibility, not just the reach.

How Lipton is using local creators instead of building in-house social teams

With agency Billion Dollar Boy, Lipton runs "Social Hubs" across six markets where vetted local creators produce content for the brand's channels and their own. The brand gets the always-on cadence of an in-house team without the headcount, and outsources briefing, sourcing and management. The unit of scale stops being the campaign and becomes a repeatable creator sourcing engine plugged into each market.

Employee-generated content: the fine line between going viral and getting fired

Two cases side by side. Kaeden Rowland, the 23 year old "Staples Baddie" whose slang filled workplace TikToks Staples embraced, and Stefan Todd, who says his videos got him fired by Ashley Furniture. EGC is being treated as a low cost, high authenticity alternative to paid creator content, but without a policy framework the spontaneity that makes it credible becomes the liability. The difference between a brand asset and a brand crisis is often an HR policy nobody wrote yet.

Ferrari just pulled a Jaguar

Ferrari unveiled the Luce, a 640,000 dollar electric liftback designed by Jony Ive. Shares fell, analysts flagged brand damage, and the internet settled on "it looks like a vacuum cleaner". Ritson's point is that the problem is not that it is electric, it is that it does not look, feel or read as a Ferrari: light blue, soft silhouette, poetic name, the opposite of what the brand stands for. Entering a new category makes distinctive brand assets more critical, not less. Hermès, Apple and Burberry all extended by leaning harder into their DNA.

PR roundup: when AI fakes the experts, livestreamers beat the algorithm, and Swatch breaks the internet

Two things worth keeping. First, Twitch has produced 168 top ranked US born creators, more than TikTok (143), Instagram (142) and YouTube (105): long form, personality driven livestreaming builds deeper loyalty than algorithm optimised short form, and the platform most media plans still treat as niche deserves a bigger seat. Second, the Swatch and Audemars Piguet "Royal Pop" drop: a 2,500 percent spike in mentions, 182,000 mentions and 18.26 billion potential impressions across 1 to 18 May, and a TikTok announcement post at 2.3 million views and 65 percent engagement. It worked because of the tension between the two worlds, which gave people something to argue about.

Virgin Voyages put 1,100 creators on a ship and generated 108 million views

A full ship takeover of Scarlet Lady from Miami to Bimini, 19 to 22 April, with more than 1,100 TikTok creators deliberately mixed by age, follower count and niche rather than travel creators only. Result: over 17,000 pieces of content, 108 million views, 3.8 million engagements, social referred web traffic more than doubled. CMO Nathan Rosenberg says creators are now the brand's primary media channel. The principle is scale over control.

Target tears down its creator programme and builds two new ones

Two programmes launched in early May. Club Target (1 May) is gamified and tier based, open to anyone in the US with 500 followers or more, built on weekly TikTok and Instagram challenges with gift cards and commission. Target Ambassadors (6 May), powered by LTK, is invite only for established creators with higher commissions and performance bonuses. Mass participation at the base, premium partnership at the top: the dual track is becoming the retail default.

Inside Vaseline's social-first, innovation-led marketing playbook

After 9 Cannes Lions for "Vaseline Verified" (Unilever R&D scientists testing viral TikTok hacks in the lab, 136 million views in three months), Unilever turned the best verified hacks into actual SKUs. "Vaseline Originals" launched on TikTok Live on 30 March 2026 and sold out in minutes, and the brand has since moved its marketing budget out of traditional advertising into creator led and UGC content. The full loop: listen at scale, validate with credibility, co-create with the community, sell through the same creators. Social listening becomes a product development function.
